Our evening walk
We start our evening walk at Karasjok Camping. We’ll provide you with your own reindeer skin and wool blanket. Should you need it, we’ll lend or rent you extra outerwear. First we put our mobile phones into airplane mode, so that only the camera may be used. This evening we invite you “to be present in the moment”.
Following our experienced guide, we leave the illuminated road and head for the beautiful Karasjohka river. As your eyes adjust to the darkness and we approach our campsite, you will find yourself using additional senses. We will share with you Sámi stories about our area and the mighty river Karasjoka. We’ll show you ancient gravesites and we may see moose tracks.
At the campsite, where a nice crackling fire is waiting for us, we’ll spread out our reindeer pelts. Here you can enjoy the view and spend some relaxed time in each other’s good company.
Delicious reindeer meat is waiting, as is coffee and a kettle. Making skewers for the meat and working together to gather fuel for the fire is part of the experience. Our guide will lead you back at the agreed-upon time.
